Amazon kept this block vacant for over a year before opening and after a 4-year experiment is leaving it vacant again. They are also ending leases for more than a billion dollars in Seattle office space, gutting the neighborhood they helped build.

Amazon is a major driver of the cost of living increase in Seattle (and related problems), having brought thousands of highly compensated people to the region. Amazon’s commitment to its people, to Seattle and its own technology is extremely disappointing.
